John Zurier: Paintings 1981–2014

Published by the Peter Blum Gallery in New York, John Zurier: Paintings 19812014 is the first and most complete overview of the work of the Berkeley-based painter. Zurier, whose 2014 BAM/PFA exhibition was his first solo museum show, paints abstract, luminous canvases with hand-mixed pigments that range from subtle, muted earth tones to vibrant, saturated hues. This publication includes 97 full color reproductions of his paintings as well as an informative, in-depth essay by critic Robert Storr. Available on a very limited basis, this appealing volume is essential for anyone with an interest in Bay Area contemporary art.
